An early 17th century Italian Renaissance style throne chair. An imposing, very striking chair. Carved from walnut, of peg construction. Having developed a deep, rich color and patina. Large scoop-carved, scrolling arms. Wonderful lion carved finials. Baluster section legs, having a beautiful floral carved front stretcher, united with geometric shaped side stretchers.
